ABUS Chain Lock Yarnit 4004K/110 Black

The ABUS Yarnit 4004K chain lock is soft on the outside, thanks to an ultra-strong soft-touch textile cover. This allows the ABUS Yarnit to be wrapped around the bicycle frame in a flexible manner, without the links clattering or rattling against the steel of the bike.

Features of the Yarnit The
ABUS Yarnit 4004K consists of a hardened metal chain inside the lock, surrounded by a strong, weather-resistant textile cover interwoven with steel cable. The lock has a total diameter of 24 millimeters and is resistant to picking attacks thanks to a locking mechanism with an anti-picking cylinder. 

Soft textile cover
The Yarnit is a very flexible textile lock that feels comfortable and does not damage the bicycle's paintwork. The lock has a length of 110 centimeters and is finished in black. The lock is also available in other lengths and colors (see Related products). 

Security Level 7 
This lock has ABUS Security Level 7. This provides good protection against an average theft risk; the Yarnit is recommended for securing high-quality bicycles and e-scooters.

Lightweight.
The weight of this chain lock is 880 grams, which is not much for a hardened steel chain lock. The locking mechanism operates with a key. The lock can be locked quickly and without a key. A spare key is included.

Bicycle locks from ABUS.
ABUS is a German manufacturer, founded in 1924. In addition to bicycle locks, ABUS also supplies locks for motorcycles and mopeds, among other things. ABUS is undoubtedly a premium brand.

ABUS Security Levels
The ABUS brand uses the Security Level system for its locks. This security level operates on a scale of 1-15 for bicycle locks (and up to Level 20 for motorcycle locks). Security Level 15 provides the highest theft protection for e-bikes, cargo bikes, or other types of bicycles.

ABUS Security Level 1-4
ABUS locks with a rating between 1 and 4 offer  basic protection . They are particularly suitable for areas with a  low risk of theft , as a secondary bicycle lock, or for a child's bike, for example.

ABUS Security Level 5-9
ABUS locks with a rating between 5 and 9 offer  extra protection . They are particularly suitable for  average theft risk  and for bicycles of average price. They can also be used as an extra lock in areas with high theft risk, in combination with a bicycle lock with a higher Security Level.

ABUS Security Level 10-15
ABUS locks with a rating between 10 and 15 offer  maximum protection . They are intended for urban and other areas with  a high risk of theft , for more expensive bicycles.

About the chain lock
The chain lock is an excellent option as a second lock. It allows you to lock your two-wheeler to a fixed object. Regarding insurance: insurers usually require a minimum of ART-2 for bicycles or e-bikes, a minimum of ART-3 for scooters, and a minimum of ART-4 for motorcycles. However, check your own policy before purchasing. Important: the higher the ART rating, and also the longer the chain, the higher the weight! For example, an ART-4 chain lock is normally too heavy for a bicycle.

Maintenance
Use grease-free lock spray regularly, as found under Related Products. This helps keep the lock cylinder clean and therefore smooth in operation.
