The Burton [ak] Swash Synthetic Insulated GORE-TEX 2L Jacket is built for riders who want serious storm protection with targeted warmth for cold resort and sidecountry days. It combines a GORE-TEX 2-layer shell with body-mapped insulation and a full [ak] feature set for long sessions on the mountain.
Outer construction
This jacket uses a GORE-TEX 2-Layer recycled nylon 70D plain weave fabric in the True Black colorway. Articulated patterning and a rider-wrapped fit support natural movement, while a backpack-friendly design keeps seams and zips accessible under shoulder straps. Shaped cuffs and welded, sew-free elasticized sides at the hood opening add a secure, clean feel in use.
Weather protection
The GORE-TEX shell is windproof and waterproof with fully taped seams and YKK water-resistant zippers to block out snow and slush. A StormForm Fulltime Contour hood with Cohaesive embedded cinch and hood length adjustment lets you dial in coverage in changing weather. Crossflow Venting with zippered side body vents allows you to dump heat quickly without sacrificing protection.
Insulation
Body-mapped PrimaLoft Silver synthetic insulation at 60 g targets warmth in the chest and kidney areas to keep your core comfortable on the lift, while leaving the arms less insulated to reduce bulk and overheating when you’re riding hard. A recycled soft taffeta lining mapped with perforated taffeta helps manage moisture and comfort against midlayers.
Fit and snow features
The regular fit offers enough room for layering without feeling bulky. An ergonomic stretch zip-out waist gaiter with jacket-to-pant interface helps keep snow on the outside. Snow-focused details include a RECCO reflector, goggle and lens dump pockets, backpack-friendly pocket placement, zippered chest and handwarmer pockets, an exterior-access phone pocket, an ATM pocket inside the chest pocket, a zippered sleeve pocket with detachable tethered scraper, and in-pocket utility loops. Lifetime warranty coverage completes the package.
