Coros POD 2
Description
Running Performance Optimization Device
The COROS POD 2 is a lightweight running sensor designed to enhance the accuracy and depth of data provided by compatible COROS watches. By measuring movement directly from the runner’s foot or body, POD 2 delivers more responsive pace data, improved distance tracking and advanced running dynamics—particularly useful on treadmills, indoor tracks, hilly terrain and in areas where GPS signals are unreliable.
Weighing just 5.6 g, POD 2 is designed to be virtually unnoticeable during training or racing. It can be attached either to the front of your running shoe or clipped to the back of your waistband, with the wearing position determining which running metrics are available.

Advanced Running Metrics
When worn on the shoe, COROS POD 2 can improve:
- Real-time pace
- Effort Pace
- Cadence
- Stride length
- GPS track
- Distance
- Altitude
- Elevation gain/loss
- Grade
- Ambient temperature
When worn on the waist, it provides additional biomechanical running metrics:
- Ground contact time
- Left/right balance
- Stride height
- Stride ratio
- Altitude
- Elevation gain/loss
- Grade
These measurements help runners better understand running mechanics, efficiency and technique.
Why Use COROS POD 2?
More responsive pace: GPS-based pace can experience delays, particularly during intervals or rapid pace changes. POD 2 measures movement directly and provides more immediate pace information to the COROS watch.
Better indoor accuracy: GPS cannot reliably measure treadmill speed and distance. POD 2 uses movement data to automatically calibrate stride and provide more accurate treadmill running data.
Improved performance on hills: By providing more responsive pace and elevation information, POD 2 helps make Effort Pace more accurate when running uphill or downhill.
Deeper running-form analysis: When worn on the waist, POD 2 provides biomechanical metrics that can help athletes and coaches analyze running efficiency and identify areas for technical improvement.
