Before your first ride
Bicycle assembly service
Every bike we sell ships about 85% assembled. Here's what that means, and how to make sure the rest gets done safely.
Why professional assembly matters
Having a skilled mechanic build and check your bike protects you two ways: they take responsibility for handing over a bike that's correctly assembled and safe to ride, and it removes any question later about whether a problem came from your own setup. If you assemble it yourself and something goes wrong down the line, the manufacturer can reasonably treat that as improper setup — and decline the warranty claim.
Reporting damage or faulty parts
If your bicycle arrives damaged or with a part that is not working properly, please contact us within 2 days of delivery so we can investigate promptly.
To help us assess your claim, please provide:
- Photos of the original packaging, inside and outside
- Clear photos or videos showing the damage or issue
- The bicycle’s frame number
Missing information may delay the assessment of your claim. This reporting timeframe does not affect your statutory consumer rights.
What the professional service checks
-
*Not possible on some models — for example road bikes with a unibody stem/handlebar, which need the rider present for a precise fit.
What ships disassembled
Whichever option you pick, these parts always travel separately for safe transport: handlebars, saddle & seat post, front wheel, pedals, front mudguard, and any other loose accessories.

Liability & warranty notes
What we're not responsible for
Simple Bike Store isn't liable for material, personal, or third-party damage arising from: incorrect assembly or adjustment carried out by the customer or an unauthorized third party; riding the bike without the necessary tune-up; or unauthorized changes to safety components like brakes, steering, or the transmission.
Assembling the bike yourself in a way that looks improper can also count against you for the legal warranty and your right of withdrawal — worth keeping in mind if you might want to return it.
Some manufacturers publish their own assembly and technical documentation, which can help if you choose to self-assemble.
